clothes-pin, a Center City Philadelphia, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, donates clothing to people in need. Via major sporting venues, our volunteers collect, sort and distribute articles of clothing and sneakers to men’s, women’s and family shelters, local to each event. Since witnessing the discarding of clothing at a major marathon in 2007, clothes-pin has collected & donated in excess of 100,000 articles including hats, gloves, hoodies, sweatpants and shirts, along with thousands of pairs of sneakers. Our efforts are made possible by the generosity of the running community, partnering organizations, dedicated staff and our amazing volunteers, comprised of corporate groups, high schools students, collegiate sports teams, friends, family and neighbors.
